An IYLI Fellow Perspective:

"An issue that has greatly affected everyone in this country is the war in Iraq.  The war started in 2003 and has been going on since.  According to the president the mission was accomplished two months after the war started, but we have been occupying Iraq since then.  Since the war began there have been billions of dollars spent on the war depleting what surplus we previously had, there have been deaths on both sides, and no weapons of mass destruction have been found, which was the initial reason for war according to our president."
